Itameshi

Lines of light trace a dark ceiling, and warm beams pick out a wall of painted panels while the rest of the room stays in shadow.

The ceiling draws the room. Thin lines of light run along its dark beams, and skylights open it to the blue of the night above.

Below, light is spent only where it counts: warm beams pick out a wall of painted panels, the tables sit in their own pools of light, and the rest of the room is left to the dark.
